Double Digits....

Wow....double digits.... It's hard to believe that you are already ten. Happy Birthday, my sweet boy. It seems like just yesterday you were running around here with those sweet chubby cheeks and rolls of baby fat on your legs. Now here you are - 10 years old....amazing.

You've accomplished so much in the last year. I'm really seeing a change in your behaviour and how you interact with others. I can see that you're maturing and figuring things out. You are thoughtful and kind. You love being with friends. You and Nicholas have become especially close over the last few months. I'm so glad that you have a cousin close to your age to grow up with.

You are super, crazy smart. You do math faster than I can even say "2+2". It comes naturally to you. I'd like to say you get that from me, but well.....that credit goes to your Dad! You are also extremely interested in flags and countries around the world. You know more capitals than I will ever know. You know so much about different countries and their cultures. It's awesome. Makes me wonder if you'll grow up and travel the world to experience all of this in real life. It seems like a true passion for you right now - I hope it grows with you.

And finally...after 10 years.....you are reading books that you are actually interested in! You have been obsessed with Harry Potter and I catch you reading the books all the time. So wonderful to see.

You continue to be super athletic and competitive. You played Hornets soccer again this year and now have made the Atom A hockey team with the Stingers. It's safe to say that hockey is also a huge passion of yours. You LOVE being on the ice. Daddy tells me you are trying to make captain and are really stepping up to achieve this. I've seen it on the ice when you praise your teammates or pat the goalie's pads when he makes a great save.

Have I mentioned that you are getting so tall?! Your shoulders are broadening.......time is fleeting.

No matter what, you will always be my sweet, baby boy. Your gorgeous freckles and grin remind me that you're growing quickly but you're still my little boy.

You are super smart, funny, loud, sensitive, competitive and handsome. You are thoughtful and sweet (and still love to sing in the shower! must record that one day....).

I love you my sweet boy. I hope you have had a great birthday and I have no doubt you'll have tons of fun at your birthday party on Friday. Go 67's Go! (A hockey themed party - what else?)

These last 10 years have been amazing and I can't imagine my life without you in it. I am so proud of the boy you have become so far and I can't wait to see what the next ten years has in store for us.

I love you with all my heart, Bman......times infinity.
Mom
xoxo

Happy Birthday! He sure sounds like a great kid.I like it when boys are interested in "smart" things like maps and countries etc.
