Some DT stuff & 24 days!

Yeah......24 days until I'm on vacation for two glorious weeks! I am seriously counting down the days. :)

Below are a couple of DT layouts I've done lately:

The first is based on a very inspirational sketch over at So Sketchy:

Supplies: Making Memories pp/tiny alpha; Fancy Pants chipboard frame/felt ; Maya Road chipboard swirl; Doodlebug bling; American Crafts thickers; Bo Bunny brads; Chatterbox alpha ('O'); Bazill chipboard heart, Ranger distress ink; Colorbox ink

And finally, a layout I created for Scheme 11 over at Scrap Schemes:

Supplies: Basic Grey pp/chipboard/alpha stickers/die cut stickers/brads; Clear Scraps photo corner; Maya Road chipboard; Colorbox ink; Deja Views rubs; AC slick writer.
That's it for now. I'll be back soon with a kid update (read: when work isn't making me so tired that I can barely type! lol)

November 11th....

November 11th,

If you can't remember war,

Think of peace.

God bless all the men and women, past and present, who have given their lives for our freedom and for peace. I hope everyone took a moment today to honour those currently serving our country in Afghanistan and other places of war. And also for the brave men and women of past wars who have fought for us, who have given themselves selflessly.
We attended a Remembrance Day ceremony at Brendan and Olivia's school today. Olivia did a reading all by herself in front of the whole school. I'm not sure I've ever been so proud of her in my life. I wish I could have taken pictures (not permitted) or that her Uncle Serge & Aunt Stephanie or my grandparents and great grandparents could have been there to see her....to see her honour them and all of their comrades who are or were soldiers. It was seriously amazing and a moment I'll never forget.
God bless you Stephanie. Stay safe, stay strong. We can't wait for you to come home. Thank you for all that you do each day.....it takes a unique and beautiful person to do what you do. We think and pray for you every day. We miss you!

Let's Do Some Layouts.....

I'm sure I've got a few that I can share. :)

This first layout features my brother Craig and his beautiful, new baby boy Keeghan. He was born on October 15th. He truly is a miracle baby and I can't wait to hold him later today. I warned Gramma and his Mommy that I'd be bringing my camera so I hope baby Keeghan is up for a photo shoot. ;)

It's very cool that Craig is a Daddy. I wasn't sure it would ever happen for him but from this photo I can see what a great Daddy he will be!
Below are a couple of layouts I created for a contest that was cancelled.

That's all I can share for now. I may have some So Sketchy layouts that I can post now. Just have to check when they were made for and I'll post away.

I'm off to visit baby Keeghan. Happy Sunday.

It's Your Bday! Happy Bday!

My Bman!

You are 7 years old today! I really can't believe it. (Am I old enough to have a 7-year-old?!?! lol). It was so great to watch you with your friends today - I saw so many signs of how quickly you are growing up. We had some of your buddies over for a street hockey party - fun times! The party seemed to pass quickly and after everyone went home, we took you out for dinner. Then home to open more presents from us and Olivia. You fell into bed tonight with a big grin on your face, clutching your new crocodile Webkinz. It was a good day....for both of us. It makes me so happy to see you so happy. It's truly all that I want for you in life...to always be happy!

So, as another year passes, I see more changes in you. You are becoming wiser (still asking a lot of questions but really understanding things and thinking before you act), you still test your limits, somehow you can eat more food than I ever dreamed possible for a boy your age and you're still stubborn, sometimes dramatic, usually loud and most importantly - a big boy with a big heart. Your sister drives you nuts sometimes but you still sneak into her room in the morning, wake her up by almost singing "good morning Olivia!" and then play together in your room until Daddy or I get up. (Bet you didn't know that I knew that! :) ) You still liked to be tucked in at night. You still need a hug from me or Daddy. You still look for us when you're hurt and you are the BEST boy EVER.

So Happy 7th Birthday my sweet baby boy! You changed our lives 7 years ago and it's been nothing but amazing since! I hope your day was as special as you are to me and your Dad.

I love you sweet boy..... xoxo
