One more thing....

If you don't already subscribe to the monthly kits at Scrapshotz, you do not know what you are missing!

September's kit may be my favourite kit to date! It's so fresh and fun and the colours are spectacular!

Here's a little sneak peek of what you'll see from me on September 1st for our CT reveals:

Be sure to check out the Scrapshotz gallery on September 1st for all of the DT layouts! You will definately be inspired. This kit ROCKS!!

For those who know me well....

...you knew it was going to happen. You knew I'd be a Blog Failure. One of those chicks who creates a blog and then never, ever remembers to update it. Truth be told---I haven't forgotten. I'm just not sure I have anything too dang important to say! :)

Kids are gearing up to go back to school and they've got the countdown going. I hope they always remain so excited about starting a new year (yes...I'm a Mom...I can dream!). Ballet, soccer and swimming lessons all start in September And oh yes, my sweet baby girl will be turning 5! THAT countdown is definately on. Pretty sure she's been counting since.....May at least! And Joe also has a milestone birthday in September. Fall is such a beautiful time and such a busy time for us. Love it.

I took Olivia for a haircut last night and thought I'd share the story (and have it down somewhere so I can journal about it on a scrap layout in the future). I usually stand or sit near her when she's getting her hair cut but last night, she told me she was okay and to go sit back down. Wow....surprised me...but I was pleasantly surprised. I sat down and listened to her talk to the hairdresser about school and her birthday, etc. So grown up. She kept looking over at me and smiling. She was winking (that cute 2-eye wink she does b/c she hasn't quite mastered the art of winking) and at one point, she looked up and gave me the cutest face and a thumb's up. As if to say, Yes Mommy...I'm growing up. But I'll always need you - even if from a distance. Dang I love that girl.

Can't believe my babies are going to be 5 and 6 soon! Brendan in a grade!! That is some SERIOUS promotion in public school! A different play yard, getting to stay ALL day! And his own desk....can you believe it?! He can't! But I'll save that for another post. :)

Hmm...I guess I did have some important things to say.

later! w.

Is it Friday yet?

I am totally dragging butt this week! It's so hard to get back into a routine after being on vacation. Maybe I should go back on vacation! LOL

Not much new here--hoping to lay low this weekend and get some stuff around here done. Kids have soccer tomorrow night too and I must remember to bring my camera as I haven't taken any pictures of Olivia yet and the end of the season is starting to creep up on us.

If you're a cardmaker, be sure to check out the Scrap Shotz online card crop this weekend. I'm sure the cardmaking girls will have tons of fun and creativity up their sleeves to inspire everyone. :)

Below is a layout that's been sitting on my desk for a few days. Not totally happy with it but you can't love them all right? It's done. Next!

Good news!

After a very LONG dry spell (okay, okay...I wasn't bothering to submit much!), I received an email from Scrapbooks & Cards Today magazine requesting one of my layouts from August SSZ DT! And it's none other than my favourite line!!! KI Memories!

Very cool....I'm very excited. Needed some good news today! :)

Back to Reality....

I cannot believe that vacation is over already! I'm so not ready to go back to work. I wonder if they'll pay me to not go in?? Yeah I know..wishful thinking!

On our last day of holidays today, I took Brendan to the dentist for fillings (talk about excitement!!) and then after lunch, we headed downtown to the Market and to see the Busker Festival. It really is amazing what some of these street performers can do. Livi was very into it--cheering and watching in amazement. Brendan really enjoyed an Ottawa performer by the name of Sophie. Her act was all about flame throwing, etc. Very cool. Once I download the photos, I'll share them with you.

I absolutely love the Byward Market and loved picking up some fresh veggies. I should make a note to do that more often. So tasty and it's great to support local farms.

I'm off to enjoy the last night of holidays. I'll be tuning into Canadian Idol and scrapping I think. Well, definately Canadian Idol. We'll see about scrapping....though I did manage to sketch out 3 pages while waiting for Brendan at the dentist today.

Vacation, Vacation

Oh how I love being on vacation! Work is fine but it's so nice to just relax and do whatever it is you want to do!

Last week we rented this great cottage in Norway Bay, Qc. We had a great time. The kids are water bugs! Here are some pics from that week:

We really had a great time and I so wish vacation was a lot longer! We're heading to Granby Zoo this weekend--I hope to get some fun shots there.
