Scrap Shotz Gives Back!

Scrap Shotz is hosting an online crop this coming weekend: April 4-6th. In honour of April being Cancer Awareness month, Scrap Shotz is giving back and doing their part to help. Here is an introduction by Kathy Thompson (Creative Planner @ SSZ):

"In honour of so many of you coming together and spending your time with us during our online crops, we would like to celebrate that by giving back!! April is Cancer month, and with cancer affecting so many people, we have chosen the Canadian Cancer Society as our designated charity this month. How can you help? It's really simple. At crop kick off on Friday, April 4, we will post a specific "Scrap Shotz Gives Back" Challenge! All you have to do to make a difference is complete the challenge! For every member who completes the challenge, SSZ will donate $5 to the Canadian Cancer Society! In addition, anyone who completes the challenge will get our special "I made a difference! SSZ Gives Back" blinkie which will be made available during the crop! We are really excited about recognizing our online community in such a positive way and we want to thank you in advance for coming together and helping out! Please help us give back!"

Even if you aren't a regular member at SSZ, I hope you'll stop by and do this challenge. You get to help a worthy cause just by doing what you already love to do (scrapping!). I hope to see you there.

Kids Say The Darndest Things.....

I unfortunately had to work today but Joe took the day off to be home with the kids today (Easter Monday).

The Easter Bunny brought Olivia a new Webkinz Chihuahua. She's thrilled with Choo-Choo...sorry Bella. She was renamed! Her and Joe were discussing chihuahuas today and where they come from, etc.

Joe tells Olivia that these types of dogs come from Mexico. Olivia looks at him with a puzzled look on her face and says "No they don't! that's not right!" He says yes, it is. She picks up her chihuahua, points to the tag and says "NO! LOOK!! It says 'made in China!' They're from China!!!"

Who taught her how to read anyway? Love her! ;)

Here are a few pictures I've taken of the kids recently. The digi frame comes from Just Cre8 . Thanks for the link Mel! :

My rockstar!!

He was very impressed with is "faux-hawk"!

And I'm way impressed with those freckles and big blue eyes!!

Silly and sweet!

I don't have much to show in the way of layouts - I'm hanging onto a few for various reasons. Here's one recently that I used with a sketch I created for a class I taught at Scrapshotz:

And a layout from a bit back that I don't think I ever posted here:

That's it! Enjoy your night...or day....whatever it is when you're reading this.. :)

Hello from the Blog Slacker....

I keep getting in trouble from a certain friend for not updating my blog. I figure I better do it before she sends someone after me to cause bodily harm. You never know with those pregnant ones...... ;)

What's new? Not much. We're good, kids are good - that's all I need. Well, I could do without 234987064 cms of snow outside. I'm longing for my capris and flip flops! Even Brendan is craving some summer weather - he's been drawing me pictures of himself in tank tops and shorts! Poor guy.

Today is March Kit Reveal day at Scrap Shotz . This kit is seriously good scrapping goodness! It ranks right up there for me as one of my all-time fave SSZ kits. March's kit features both the Sophie & Elizabeth line from the Making Memories 5th Avenue collection. Two lines in one kit! How awesome is that? If you don't subscribe already, this is the month to start.

Here are my layouts:

And Livi and I had a little girl time today while the boys were at the Senators/Penguins game (go Sens go!). Here's a couple of pictures from this afternoon. I just love that face. :)

That's it for now! I'll come back soon....I promise! ;)

Go Elf Yourself! And other ramblings...

I couldn't resist making 'elves' of all of us after my friend Josee sent me her own with her familiy! Full of fromage but just so funny! Makes me laugh. Here's a layout about it:

Nothing much new on the homefront - Joe and I are starting the painting this weekend and I'm really looking forward to it. Not so much how fast it'll make the weekend go but how happy we'll both be after we paint the main floor! Besides that, Brendan is sick with strep throat (poor babe!) and Olivia is doing well.

And a new line from Brendan this week (or I suppose a question)...totally out of the blue... "Mom, it's yucky to kiss other people on the tongue right??"

Oy.....let the games begin!

My boy...

...has been super sweet lately. He's always a sweet kid but he's really been showing his emotions lately, which I love. He's not usually free with stuff like that and that's ok too. But a Mommy likes to hear that she's loved once in a while, kwim? :)

Brendan came home just before Christmas with a present all wrapped up in a lovely box he had decorated himself. The tag read: "To: Olivia From: Brendan". Olivia was super excited to get it and opened it quickly and inside was a beautiful handmade ornament by Brendan! He decided to give it to Olivia because he knows she likes to get presents. He was grinning the whole time.....he does love her! ;)
And the other day - after his bath, he was in a good mood and fooling around. He kept putting his face on my face and laughing. Out of the blue he says "I love you Mommy! I wouldn't trade you for any Mommy in the whole world!" Totally made my day! Then he asked me to kiss his eyelashes (not too sure about that one but I complied!).
So...he's been super sweet lately and I just wanted to get that stuff down for future scrap layouts! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend (why are the weekends so short??).
And here's a layout about the super sweet gift B-Man brought home for Livi. I love that kid.

DT Reveal Day at SSZ!

I thought I would post my layouts that I created using January's Kit at Scrap Shotz . This kit rocks my world! I could create another 5 layouts easy using all the goodness in this kit! I just loved working with the Grungeboard and the KI lace cardstock. Oh and the flocking/foil kit by WRMK! To die for! And my fave part - the fact that all of the embellisments and additions are so EASY to work with. I don't like to fuss with things when I scrap and all of the layouts I did came together so quickly. It's a fabulous kit!

My personal fave of the 3:

TFL! Back to work for me! (groan...sigh...grumble...)
